paint your nails so that it tastes bad when you do it, and it will keep you from wanting to ruin them. try wearing a peice of jewelry you can play with instead.

Put your fingers in your butt. Then see how long you continue your habit.

idk…
i have that same problem so I’ll read the other answers and try those things, i have gotten better though.
i would set a goal such as “if i don’t bite my nails fore [so long], i will get [something]. ” but i usually bite my nails in like 2 weeks.
good luck

I always thought this worked for me. I would paint my nails with nail polish so they looked semi-decent. Then I just wouldnt want to ruin them because of the polish or have that in my mouth. If that doesnt work there are special formulas at drug stores you can buy to paint your nails that tase horrible. Im not really sure how those work. Best of Luck! =]

What worked for me is i dipped my fingers in rubbing alchohol or finger nail polish remover everyday b4 i left 4 skool. rubbing alchohol kinda has a funny smell though.

I’ve heard people that get fake nails to prevent them from biting, because they don’t want to ruin their pricey investment. If you don’t want to spend the money though, I would just paint my nails… The nail polish tastes nasty when it’s chipped off and it doesn’t look pleasant either. Or you could just cut your nails shorter than usual (but not too short because then you could get an infection) so there wouldn’t be much to bite.

I put Sally Hansen clear polish on them. I use the one that is called Miracle nails or ?. Anyway,it does make them grow much faster and it has a hardener in it that makes it tough to start to nibble them off. It is in a gold bottle and is inexpensive.

If you have access to somebodies microscope, scrape out your dirt under your nailks and put it under the micro you’ll stop biting your nails immediately.

paint them at all times or talk to your doctor about this formula to put on you nails that make it taste bad

I’ve been bitiing my nails since as long as I can remember. I’ve tried the nail polish remover, the gross tasting nail polish, and painting my nails. ( wouldn’t do fake nails personally). And nothing has worked successfully. Some people just bite their nails.
Maybe it’s a nervous habit. Try to monitor when you find yourself biting your nails.
Or, like me, it has to do with an oral fixation. Like people who smoke to have something in their mouth, or those who chew on pens, biting nails is pretty much the same thing.

instead of biting your nails, file them, or if their really bad, use nail clippers. most habits r hard 2 break, so try doing something 2 keep your mind of it.
